UAE226 - A long one!
«
on:
March 25, 2009, 20:01:22 »
Just got a nice merge working between the PSS 777-200LR panel and the posky model, of course in Emirates colours! This should be an interesting flight!
Leaving the terminal area
767 just finishing pushing back
She's big and heavy
Reflections, Strobes and more lights
And we are off, high climb rate to start off with, but then a sluggish climb to FL290 (our first stop)
Over a few fields
And now a large city
Amazing clouds up here
Same again
More to follow!
Vista 64
E8400 OC'd to 4.2ghz
4GB Ram
9800GTX+
Fly tampa KSFO
Ultimate Terrain N.A.
GE Pro
Activesky
Customised Clouds*
and LOTS of cfg tweaking!
FS2004
Comments welcome
Enjoy
Conrad.

Great shots indeed!!
Are you planning on putting this merge online if/when you get the VC working?

Perfect! where can we get this cloud?
I took a flight between SBGR-OMDB lasting for 17h ... tiring, but rewarding at the end!

Hey - Sorry for the delay:
The merge can be found on AVSIM (found it tonight) - The VC should technically work, but i think i forgot to copy some textures over (or i couldn't be bothered
)
http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=128200
The processor clock speed also changes a lot - I started off running my pc at 3.0ghz (std stock speed) - Pushed it to 3.6 and now to 4.2, since pushing it to 4.2, my textures load very fast and also always crisp.
In addition to this I have Ultimate Defrag, and set all my FS textures as High performance files, so when the defrag runs, it sorts my textures by Name, ie: 0123456789ABCDEF etc etc and also puts the high performance files at the edge of the disk (fastest area for disk access).
In regards to the .cfg file:

Unfortunately I was unable to complete the flight (with less than an hour to go) as I have just been called into Uni to have a meeting with my dissertation supervisor...
Ill sort the cloud textures out later (if time) or after the weekend as I am away.

It really looks a nice one. Has it got surfaces going down on hydraulics power off? And one more. PSS panel function are really perfeclty interactive with the model? I mean: lights switches commanding proper lights, fuel jettison, apu door working properly, RAT...?

Ok I've tested a bit deep and found some issues with RAT (doesn't work), hydraulics (power off works for the elevator, but not for the rest, even if all surfaces are correctly inop). The apu door stays open even in apu off state on the ground. The exterior model is really a pretty one 1st class work (maybe just the rudder and gear suspensions dynamics could be done a bit better in comparison to the PSS). Especially GE90 engines looks really really good (the real big variance vs the PSS model to me), but, my opinion, a merge with the PSS panel (the finest one actually available for the 777, and maybe dynamics also) isn't worth trying for the one who tends to a 100% fully functional model.

Perfect! where can we get this cloud?
I took a flight between SBGR-OMDB lasting for 17h ... tiring, but rewarding at the end!
Regards
Indeed, a flight every simmer should do at least once virtual...longest flight (after SIA closed its WSSS-KEWR route) in my opinion.

I'm not sure ( Correct me if I'm wrong please
)
But this is what I think :
It tells FS the options you've chosen in the *duhh* options, like wheater settings, display settings, that stuff.
So if you have your traffic density on 80% it tells FS to display/generate 80% traffic and not something like 70#

There are some options in the cfg that you can's change in the FS settings directly. Some of the tweaks some people add to the cfg aim to have better image quality and better frame rates.
